Rumor: No More Heroes release pushed up in NA?
![]()
No More Heroes is shaping up to be one of the most exciting titles hitting the Wii next year. Created by Killer 7 mastermind, Suda 51, the title blends humour, an interesting visual style, and a lot of bloody action together. It’s really turning heads.
But while previously announced to come out around the second week of February, we were all excited and concerned. Why? Well, what else is coming out in February? Well, I don’t know… maybe a game called Smash Brothers Brawl?! Plenty of people have tried to get it through publisher Ubisoft’s head that releasing this game so close to such a hotly anticipated title is going to leave this game slaughtered at retailers. Especially considering how poorly this game did in Japan.
Well while this is still just a rumor, it seems Ubisoft may have noticed something was wrong with the game’s release in the Americas. Numerous online retailers have bumped the game’s release date up to as early as January 22nd. Ubisoft has yet to make an official statement regarding whether this release date is in fact real or not. But we certainly hope it is. Considering all the hands-on impressions from people who’ve tried the title out, it certainly sounds like one solid action title. It would be a shame to see this game ignored, even if it is next to Brawl. We’ll keep you updated if this is in fact real or not.

The Wii doesn’t have much in terms of first-person shooters, and the ones that exist are certainly of poor quality in terms of effort from the developers and what the system itself is capable of. The EA-published Medal of Honor Heroes 2 has hit the Wii in hopes of changing that. The title is set in the WWII era, not only making this the third WWII FPS the system has seen, but the second under the Medal of Honor license that we’ve seen in this year. The previous installment, Medal of Honor: Vanguard, really suffered from muddy visuals, inconsistent AI, and somewhat passable control. Does this leap into the fray result in a heroic victory, or does Heroes 2 suffer the same wounds as before?

Square-Enix has announced some more DS release dates.

Square Enix has announced that their Wii exclusive Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (holy long title, Batman!) will be shipping in America on February 26, 2008. The American version is set to feature four all new bosses and a brand new Payback mode. RPG fans should get excited for this offering from one of the best in the business! Keep your eyes peeled for more on this title in the coming months.
