Yes, we’re alive… PLUS a rumour!

Okay, so one update in a week is pretty bad… I can’t speak for the other writers, but I know I’ve been VERY busy finishing up first semester at college, plus news has been really boring this week. Once school is done for me and Shaan there’s going to be a pile of game reviews going up, not to mention more time to look for news and post it. Consider this last week our ’studying for final exams’ break. We’re still here, and we’re still dedicated to bringing you the Nintendo news you care about.

There HAS been a rather interesting rumor making its way around the internet however. Well, it’s not so much a rumor as much as a tease which originated from an IGN podcast that they weren’t allowed to delve into. The gossip tree is saying that “a major classic franchise” will be returning for Wii. No developer has or publisher has been specified, but we’re all guessing. Kid Icarus? Punch-Out? Rogue Squadron? Who knows… but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on in the next couple weeks.

And oh yeah, No More Heroes looks awesome. That is all!

I’m questioning Kid Icarus, or Punch Out. The podcast where this rumour originated states “if you’re older than 12, you’ll know this franchise.” I doubt any 13 year olds knew about Kid Icarus or Punch-Out before Brawl announced that those franchises were involved. And I doubt many of them would be asking for it back. Rogue Squadron seems far more likely, however. Lucasarts wants in on the cash-machine that is the Wii, Factor 5 is done with Lair, so they can get back to working on whatever they want. And plenty of people remember Rogue Squadron. And it’s within the time-frame that the people over at IGN said it is.

It’d be awesome to see another Rogue Squadron game… A new Kid Icarus game would be wicked, but like Shaan said, the “If you’re older than 12″ throws it for a loop. Today’s 12 year-olds would have started on N64 and Playstation, so we’re probably dealing with something from the early-N64/SNES era…

    Pilotwings, anyone?
