Today Jeux-France has given us almost two-dozen higher-res images from Square Enix’s upcoming WiiWare title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Little King and the Promised Land. No more grainy little magazine scans! Suffice to say, the game looks pretty amazing (you can see an older trailer for the game, with a hint of gameplay here), and I’m wondering just how the Wii will be able to handle downloading a game of such a size. Wii Hard Drive anybody? Please Nintendo?
Just to remind everyone, the game will release in March in Japan for a price of 1,500 points. Still no word, though, of a North American release date, or even if that price will stick. Let’s hope it’s cheaper.




Factor 5 President Julian Eggebrecht has confirmed that his company is working on a full fledged game for the Wii. That means not a Virtual Console game and not a WiiWare game, but an original title built from the ground up to utilize the Wii hardware. Factor 5 are best known for their work on the Nintendo 64/Gamecube ‘Star Wars: Rogue Squadron’ series. They’re also known for being technical wizards and pushing consoles to their limits, so whatever they’re working on, we can be sure it’s going to be pretty.
