Telltale Telling Tales of Sam and Max on Wii

It’s a weird concept to refer to a “season” of a video game. Much like a TV show, the latest from the cult classic Sam and Max series has been released over the past year-and-a-half in “episodes”. A concept that has yet to be truly popularised, though the Half-Life 2 (best. FPS. evar.) series has given it a shot with their episodes 1 and 2 releases (and episode 3 is coming… when?). Sam and Max was the first franchise to really try it, keep at it, and have it not suck.
Now, developer Telltale Games has plans for releasing the entirety of Season One (all 6 episodes) on the Wii as (essentially) a direct port of the PC versions. We’re all used to ports from different systems by now, so that’s not a big deal… Sam and Max and the Wii was pretty much a match made in heaven, as fans have been asking for this for a long time (or at least since the Wii released… which doesn’t feel quite so long). We can expect the game to arrive this fall, but in the meantime, I highly suggest checking out the short-lived animated series as well as the comics that started it all.
For those unfortunate souls that have never heard of Sam and Max, they’re a detective duo (calling themselves “freelance police”) that travel across the globe (and once to the moon) solving crimes. They’re also anthropomorphic animals, one being a 6-foot-tall dog and the other being some sort of hyper-rabbit. They also drive a black 1960 DeSoto Adventurer.
Seriously, guys. It’s a recipe for pure win.
