Nintendo Media Summit - maybe we’ll see something?

For those who don’t know, Nintendo is holding a media event tomorrow and Friday. Since the post office lost our invitations (typical, am I right?), we’re unable to attend. Reggie himself asked me if we wanted to go and I was like “Daaamn Reggie, you know you want me there!” and then we went for sushi where we ran into Sylvester Stallone and he’s all “Yo! I’m John Rambo! Don’t mess wit’ me!” But then Reggie pulled out a pizza-cutter and was like “Bring it!” and then the world exploded.
*sigh* But anyways, we’ll still be scouring every inch of the internet to gather as much information on hands-ons and announcements from the summit that we can.
Now I’ll just let you know that you shouldn’t get your hopes up. This isn’t E3, so don’t expect them to announce Kid Icarus or anything. Although that would be awesome… Instead, expect some hands-ons with some of Nintendo’s upcoming titles that we already know about. For example, WiiFit and Mario Kart Wii.
Day 1 of the summit will be focused on Wii games. Again, we likely aren’t going to get something new announced, but there may be some first hands-ons with games like Disaster: Day of Crisis. I mention that game because Famitsu has reported that it’s set to come out this July. So if it’s true, this is going to be the place where we finally see it in action.
Day 2 will be focused almost entirely on WiiWare with the service launching in just a month. We’re certainly going to see a few new titles and perhaps a finalized launch list.
Now before you get ready for a day of hitting refresh on our site every 20 minutes, Nintendo will be embargoing a lot of the show. At least for about a week. Expect a leak or two, and we’ll get on top of those. But again, just be aware we aren’t going to see too much for a short while.
Stay tuned, though, because we’ll be keeping you updated with any new news or info on the summit.
