In-House: Wii Fit

I love game launches. The excitement. The challenge of finding it. The desire to be first. It’s what kept me going at 6:30 this morning as I did the regular half-hour walk to work in the pouring rain.
I didn’t work this morning, though. This walk was all for Wii Fit. Of course, part of the frustration was not knowing if we had it or not. I checked with the electronics department before closing last night and they weren’t even sure if we’d recieved it yet. I decided to chance it anyway, since I’d kick myself if I had waited till my shift starts later today, only to find out that we did and they all sold out.
I got there a few minutes before opening. Nobody there outside. Alright this is sorta good, I thought. I was soon joined by a man who had been waiting in his car out of the rain. I guess he felt threatened that people were starting to show up. Good news is, we had them in stock.
Then I walked home again in the rain. I wrapped the Wii Fit box in a garbage bag, put it in my own bag and tucked it under my rain jacket. It got home dry as a bone, though I did not.
I’ve only played around with it for about an hour or so. It was about all the balancing tests I could take for one morning. First impressions: Pretty good. It looks like all it’s been made out to be. Definitely enough exercises to keep things from getting boring. I’ll probably write more detailed impressions at some point. I don’t wanna be one of those bloggers who obsessively tracks his BMI and weight with Wii Fit and documents his entire journey with the game. There are enough of those already.
A few unboxing pics after the jump!

Nice soothing packaging…

In the box: Balance Board, game disc, 4xAA batteries, 4 height extender dealies, and Balance Board instruction booklet.

I’m getting sick of that image of the woman in the yoga pose…

There she is again… gah!
And after inputting my personal details and doing some little balance tests, it’s given me my first little result:

I’ve got a Wii Fit age of 24! Not bad. I don’t see why the game tells me I should be disappointed, that’s a pretty good age for fitness.
Also, for anyone interested, I have a BMI of 20.26. Well within the range of Normal, and even a little closer to underweight… Guess I’ve gotta get a little more (Wii) Fit and bulk up some muscle.
I’m also about 5 pounds lighter than I last checked, though that probably has to do with the past week on a liquid diet after getting my wisdom teeth out.
