Take a look at the future of Nintendo’s handheld gaming. It’s not a very different future, but a future nonetheless.
This is the DSi. Nintendo’s update to the regular DS hardware which was revealed late last night at Nintendo’s Tokyo media summit. Since I know you’re all anxious to learn more about it, I’ll run down some features.
It’s a little thinner than the DS Lite, largely thanks to the removal of the GBA slot. The screens are 17% bigger. Better speakers. Two cameras, one on the inside and one on the out, both with 0.3 megapixel resolution (ouch!). Internal memory. An SD Card slot, to take pictures onto, and also to transfer downloaded DSi Ware games from the Wii to the DSi. Built-in Opera-based web browser. Price in Japan, 18,900 Yen, or about $180. Available in White and Frosted Black.
Releasing in Japan November 1st (Yes, one month from now), and 2009 everywhere else.
I think that’s about it. It’s not a huge revamping, but there are some pretty cool updates in there.
Now it’s time for some more sexy pictures of this tiny beast… after the jump!
